Corner Cafe

Corner Café is a great breakfast & lunch restaurant located in the charming historic neighborhood of Newport, Rhode Island. I decided to check out the breakfast here after reading plenty of excellent reviews. Overall, this restaurant was a perfect choice before heading out to area beaches.

The food here was surprisingly cheap, especially for the New England area, where I am used to paying a bit more for everything. I enjoyed my omelet and the red potatoes were delicious. The omelets start at only $4.50 and you pay an additional $1 for each vegetable addition. Serving sizes are large. Breakfast Menu Lunch Menu Dessert Menu

Our waitress was pretty friendly and really quick to provide refills. She didn’t pressure us into ordering any extras like restaurants typically do.

The restaurant is very small, but has a nice cozy hometown feel. The wait was pretty long (20 minutes but then again it was a Sunday morning). There is no parking lot so weekend mornings can be difficult to find parking (we went on a Sunday morning right when church was getting out which was probably not the best time!). The only negative aspect was that the tables were so close together; I would prefer not listening to other people’s conversations!

I would dine at Corner Café again next time I am in the Newport area. It is one of the best breakfasts I have tried out in the area with affordable prices, large servings, good service, and great food.
