Choclatree Organic Oasis got its' name right; this 100% organic casual eatery which features a full vegetarian/gluten-free menu is a true oasis for any Sedona traveler looking for a healthy meal that is free of gluten an/ or dairy products. It's an even bigger treat for Sedona residents who get to visit as often as they like. In addition to a tasty menu of homemade healthy meals and appetizers, Chocolatree also makes chocolate treats right in house. The tempting display of daily treats is sure to tempt anyone with a sweet tooth, whether or not they are trying to be healthy! A full marketplace, featuring many of the products used in the menu, is there for anyone who really enjoyed their meal. The live tomato basil wraps are excellent, and conveniently sold right on-site. I picked up a few of these myself because they are so delicious. Best of all, Chocolatree offers one of the best outdoor patios in the area: a relaxing, shady, and peaceful place to enjoy a guilt free meal.

Chocolatree offers a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu of 100% gluten-free, vegan offerings. A few of the morning entrees include buckwheat waffles with vegan butter, maple syrup, and honey, and a superfood porridge made with chia seeds, goji berries, chocolate, maple syrup, and almond milk. Appetizers include options such as garlic bread, live spring rolls, and soups (potato, chili, chilled carrot and ginger and Thai coconut). You can also enjoy a sampler for 2 which includes a variety of tasty sides (hummus, guacamole, pico de gallo, chia crackers, nori nachos, cucumbers, and onion flat bread). Filling entree sized salads are loaded with a variety of fresh veggies like cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, onions, and greens. Two of the best options include a filling Kale Quinoa salad and a vegan version of the traditionally dairy based Caesar Salad. Entrees include a Daily Ayurvedic Dish, a hearty soup/curry, and a mushroom fantasy dish which includes sauteed mushrooms and garlic almond cream sauce over wild rice. The wraps are the highlight of the menu, being that they are delicious, filling, and moderately priced. The Viva Burrito, a live tomato basil wrap, overflowing with all types of veggies (carrots, cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, red onions) and guacamole and creamy vegan cheddar is an absolute must try. This dish was so good that I visited again the next weekend specifically to enjoy it one more time. The Sedona 2012 is another nice selection. This overstuffed burrito is a great choice after a long hike where you want to fill up on some healthy stuff along with some carbs. Inside this tomato wrap, you'll find wild rice, quinoa, potatoes, carrots, celery, pico de gallo, creamy vegan cheddar, hot sauce, guacamole, onions, and garlic. This is the perfect choice for the gluten-free/vegan fitness enthusiast as it is filling, delicious, and healthy all at the same time. If you have any room after your hearty meal, you may want to try out one of the homemade deserts or a small dark chocolate treat from the display counter. ChocolaTree makes all their treats on site using raw cacoa, which is loaded with healthy antioxidants. All treats are gluten-free & vegan, and some are free of sugar. Drinks include teas, iced chai, kombucha, wheatgrass and energy shots, smoothies, and a variety of hot beverages such as aeropress espresso, hot chocolate, lattes, and specialty tea drinks. In terms of drinks, I highly recommend the Chocolate N Maca if you are craving something a bit sweet. This decadent treat is made using almond milk, chia seeds, raw cacao, Arizona raw honey, and maca root. It's the perfect compliment to one of the many desserts found on the menu. Try the Coconut Creme Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Tiramisu, or Chocolate Cardamon Cupcakes.

Service was very slow, although decently friendly. Our waiter had no problem explaining anything on the menu or making any small substitutions.

You can enjoy your meal indoors or outdoors in the lush garden like patio setting, complete with hammocks, relaxing couches, fountains, lots of trees, and plenty of birds. The tranquil setting goes hand in hand with the healthy, rejuvenating menu. It's also dog friendly too, so you no longer have to leave your pet at home.

Chocolatree Organic Oasis would be my top pick for any vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diner visiting the Sedona area. It is the only restaurant in town offering an 100% gluten-free menu. The food is healthy and fresh and the outdoor setting is beautiful, making it the perfect place to stop after a day exploring Sedona's gorgeous natural landscapes.
