The Coffee Loft is a wonderful neighborhood coffee shop in Sarasota, far away from the Siesta Beach tourist crowds. It's a great relaxing atmosphere with plenty of space to surf the web, check emails, play a board game, chat with friends, or just enjoy a great cup of coffee. The welcoming atmosphere, fantastic espresso drinks, nd cozy couches make this a great spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy their morning or afternoon caffeine fix.
In addition to lattes, mochas, iced coffee drinks, frappes, and cappuccinos, you will also find tea and hot chocolate on the menu. Those wishing to enjoy a non-caffeinated beverage will be happy to find a variety of fruit based smoothies on the menu. Prices here are pretty affordable with a regular brewed coffee ranging in price from $2-2.50, depending on size. The Americano drinks were absolutely wonderful, smooth and not too bitter. The ability to switch out dairy milk with an almond or soy milk base is perfect for vegans and lactose intolerant individuals. There is not much in the way of food here, just a few small pastry items.
Service was friendly and fast. The coffee shop was not at all crowded and there was no line, which is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet.
The highlight here is the large cozy upstairs loft. Here you can linger over your coffee for as long as you like - read a book, chat with friends, or even get some work done with the free WiFi available. It's a wonderful laid-back setting, and much larger than most of the coffee shops found in the congested Gulf Coast area. Various events, such as Open Mic nights and concerts take place throughout the year, so be sure to check the calendar for upcoming shows.
The Coffee Loft offers everything you want in a great coffee shop: perfectly brewed drinks, affordable prices, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. Next time you pass a Starbucks, keep on going and treat yourself to an even better coffee in a more relaxing setting at The Coffee Loft.
