Bella Vita is a charming local Italian restaurant located adjacent to the Sedona Pines Resort. As it is located on the outskirts of town, far away from the congestion of the Uptown shops and restaurants, it's a nice change of pace for anyone wanting to get away from the touristy places for a nice local dinner in a cozy setting.

Bella Vita offers your standard Italian menu with classics like Fettuccine Alfredo (very good!), Meatballs and Marinara, and Parmesan dishes. One fantastic unique choice is the Pappardelle Funghi, a delicious homemade pasta dish tossed with wild mushrooms and topped with a truffle shallot cream sauce. There are lots and lots of mushrooms in this dish, so any mushroom lover must try it out! The complimentary starter of fresh homemade foccacia bread served with olive oil was a nice treat to begin the meal: I only wish they would have gave out a few more pieces as the bread was so delicious! Bella Vita makes all their own pasta fresh on site each day and uses local ingredients and it shows in the quality of each entree. Entrees are very pricey: $17 and up for a basic pasta dish with no soup or salad included. In my opinion, adding a mini salad would be a nice gesture for the price you are paying. Nevertheless, we tried out the Spinach salad, which was a nice fresh veggie start to an otherwise carb heavy meal. The highlight of our visit was choosing amongst the delicious desserts. We ended up trying out the delicious Torta di Cicoccolato, a rich flourless chocolate cake, which is decadent enough to split amongst 2. You will find that every restaurant in Sedona is overpriced; at least at Bella Vita, you are getting good food & service, as well as a nice setting in exchange for your money.

Service was excellent. Our waiter was classy and professional, and willing to help with menu suggestions. Unlike touristy restaurants in town, there did not seem to be any rush to get customers in and out.

The dining room is intimate and elegant, without being over cramped: the perfect setting for a romantic night out. Bella Vita offers more of a fine dining experience than the many casual choices overflowing the town. On weekend nights, you will get to enjoy some live music.

Bella Vita is definitely one of the better fine dining choices in the Northern Arizona area. In terms of excellent authentic Italian food, great service, and a fancy setting, you really cannot get much better than Bella Vita for a date night out or celebratory dinner.
