Pizza Fusion

Pizza Fusion is a one of a kind specialty pizza restaurant, complete with health conscious menu items including: organic ingredients (75% of the menu), a vegan Daiya cheese substitution, and gluten-free pizza crust. Pizza Fusions's earth friendly atmosphere even transfers over into their delivery service as the company uses special hybrid cars. Pizza Fusion has done something that not many other pizza franchises have done, namely enabled those with multiple allergies to enjoy a great pizza out. One of the few options in the Tampa area to enjoy vegan, gluten free, and high quality organic pizza all at the same time. Pizza Fusion is a must try for all the health conscious pizza lovers out there.

Pizza Fusion's menu includes an assortment of specialty pizzas, all of which can be made gluten-free and/or vegan. The gluten-free crust is also vegan. The cheese and sauce are both gluten-free. The gluten-free crust is one of the best in the area, a great tasting mixture of garbanzo, rice, and fava bean flours. Pizza ranges in size from a 6 by 9 personal to a 28 by 9 extra large. The gluten-free crust only comes in large (18 by 9), however, this is much larger than the traditional 10 inch restaurant serving size of gluten-free pizza. The 18 inch gluten-free Bruschetta pizza, which included: chopped tomatoes, red onions, basil, balsamic vinegar and roasted garlic, was great although a bit small for 2 to split. 2 large pizzas would have been much better. Also, the toppings were a bit light; larger veggie chunks would have been better. The pizza tasted more like bruchetta than pizza due to the absence of sauce. Nevertheless, it was still very good. A regular pizza and bruchetta pizza would have been the perfect combo. here are also gluten & vegan free brownies to top off your meal. Gluten-free beers made with sorghum instead of barley are available to compliment your meal. In addition, you will find a variety of appetizers and side dishes including: wraps, salads, chicken wings, and flatbread. Prices are moderate, especially for the use of higher quality organic ingredients. A large gluten-free pizza starts at only $16 (plus $2 for each topping). This is a pretty fair price, and much lower than what you would find elsewhere. They also have a great email club where you can sign up to receive special deals.

Service was average, nothing spectacular. The waitress did not make much small talk, however, was quick and informed about menu items.

Tampa's Pizza Fusion is centrally located, easily accessible from many of downtown's attractions including the art centers, the Riverwalk, the Tampa Theater, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. There is a nice clean, modern look inside and a few tables outside as well for those cooler nights.

Overall, Pizza Fusion was a great experience. The fantastic central downtown location is a big plus. Being able to enjoy an allergy friendly pizza before or after your downtown activities is the perfect treat.
