Mix is a wonderful salad bar, soup, and sandwich cafe located in the Old Town Shops in downtown Flagstaff. It's one of the best choices in town for gluten-free diners as they offer gluten-free bread, croutons, soups, and salad bar toppings. A delicious made to order salad with a hot bowl of soup is the perfect filling and healthy lunch treat.

Mix offers a handful of specialty salad creations or you can build your own from the extensive salad bar. You will fill out a little sheet with your checked off veggies, toppings, and dressings. Then the employee will add whatever you checked off without the need to follow them down and tell them every single ingredient. They even have frequent visitors cards so you do not have to fill in a new sheet each time you visit. The nice thing about Mix is that they really load up your salad with toppings. You aren't skimped at all. And the toppings are very small and easy to scoop up on your fork - no big chunks of broccoli or anything like that. The GF croutons are amazing. I haven't seen many restaurants offer them. Also, the housemade dressings are very delicious. All dressings are GF and a handful are dairy free. Premium topping such as chicken and avocado can be added. Prices are pretty affordable. A make your own salad for 2 comes in under $20. The daily soup varies by day. Some options include a delicious Vegan Split Pea, Creamy Tomato Basil, and Loaded Baked Potato. A few more vegan options would be nice, however, the vegan split pea (offered only on Mondays) really is fantastic. As a helpful suggestion, a daily creamy vegan soup option would be fantastic. Other menu options include sandwiches (Udi's gluten-free bread is available), GF and regular pancakes for breakfast, and egg sandwiches for breakfast.

All staff at Mix are very friendly, which unfortunately is not the norm at most restaurants in this town. The employees have no problem checking ingredients when inquiring about allergens. Also they are not stingy with the toppings: when you request more they will gladly throw in a few extra handfuls.

Mix offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating area is bright, modern, and clean, although you won't find much in the way of decor. Sitting outside is a great way to take in all the action downtown especially during the Summer Nights on the Square Events.

Mix has no shortage of options for the gluten-free diner. From breakfast pancakes to a veggie filled salad with GF croutons served with a delicious bowl of hot soup, you will have a filling, well rounded meal.
