Food

The menu at Blue Dream is small, yet interesting. You will find a number of creative apps (try the Naan taco), a selection of curries, as well as a few soups and salads.

One curry we really enjoyed was the Masala, a creamy UK style curry and Korma, a hearty Indian style curry featuring turmeric, cumin, toasted coriander, and pickled jalapenos.

All curries come with white or brown jasmine rice and veggies. Extra veggies or protein can be added. You can choose your spice level, although I recommend keeping it low so you can taste the full range of exotic flavors.

Do order a side or 2 of Naan bread to accompany your meal. Their bread comes from a local bakery called Geraldine's. As an added bonus, Blue Dream works with a number of local WNC business, so this is a great dining choice if you prefer to support small business.

Pricing is pretty affordable compared to other popular restaurants in town, with curries priced at just $12 and a side of Naan at a mere 2 bucks.

A number of local North Carolina beers, cocktails, kombucha, Rishi Hot Tea, and hand-crafted sodas round out the drink menu.

Service

Service is a hit or miss here. Waiters are typically friendly, but sometimes a bit on the slow side. On the plus side, food is usually served pretty fast as the traffic remains low in comparison to more trendy restaurants nearby. If you are seeking a place where you can easily get in and out in under an hour, Blue Dream Curry fits the bill.

Atmosphere

The design is simple yet appealing. The space appears clean and well kept. If you are seeking a quiet, laid-back lunch destination, Blue Dream is easily one of the better choices downtown.

Update: On one visit, there was a bug running across my plate. The staff did not seem overly concerned, but I found it a bit gross. I really like this restaurant and hope their kitchen is clean. While they did give me a new entree, it makes me a little scared regarding cleanliness procedures.
