Mario's is a casual, family-owned Italian restaurant in the small community of Forest City. Featuring a delicious menu of traditional Italian favorites in a beautiful dining room, Mario's is the perfect place for a date night or celebratory occasion.
Food
Mario's offers a traditional menu of all the typical Italian classics. If you are a seafood lover, you may want to try the Linguini in Clam Sauce or the Stuffed Shrimp. Chicken Parmesan and Fettuccine Alfredo are great classic choices. Vegetarians have several options including a creamy pesto pasta sauce and Pomodoro.
Pricing is a bit high for a small town, but the food is delicious. Although the mozzarella sticks we tested were a bit overcooked, our entrees were quite tasty. I highly recommend ordering the Eggplant Parmesan.
While the food is not as outstanding as Italian restaurants I have frequented in big cities, Mario's is quite a good find in a small North Carolina town.
Service
Service is the highlight of a visit to Mario's. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Every customer feels like a valued guest at Mario's.
Atmosphere
The vibe at Forest City is casual, yet elegant. The brick walls add a nice historic touch.
Final Remarks
Mario's is a decent dinner choice if you find yourself visiting or passing through Forest City. The great food, service, and ambiance easily make it one of the top picks in town.
