Sweet Brewnette
This popular cafe/coffeehouse receives constant tourist traffic thanks to its' close proximity to Madeira Beach. As one of the only places where you can enjoy a light breakfast and a cup of coffee all in the same place, this comes as no surprise.
Food
Sweet Brewnette offers much more than simply coffee. A full espresso menu, as well as an ample food menu, means you do not need to stop anywhere else before hitting the beach. Their regular house coffee (which is fair trade and organic) is decent enough, although a bit on the dark side. If you prefer to get fancy, they offer many specialty drinks including the Funky Monkey, an interesting drink featuring espresso, bananas, chocolate, and peanut butter.
For breakfast, try the PB & B, a toasted English muffin topped with peanut butter, honey, and banana - it's simple, it's delicious. We also tried a skillet which was decent enough, although way overpriced considering the tiny portion size and lack of any side like potatoes.
Other menu selections include a Breakfast croissant, Belgian waffles, Fruit Parfait, and a Veggie Frittata.
Service
Service was a bit slow as it was a packed house. It took a long time to get the coffee and even longer to get the food.
Atmosphere
The seating area is very attractive. The local artistic vibe sets it apart from other restaurants in the region. The artwork lining the walls adds a nice retro touch - you can purchase anything you like. There is also outdoor seating although it tends to fill up fast during the "nicer" season.
Final Remarks
Sweet Brewnette is your best bet for a decent breakfast and cup of joe near Madeira Beach. This is the only place where you can enjoy top notch coffee and espresso while also enjoying a great breakfast. Not the best food or coffee around, but probably the best near Madeira/Treasure Island beach.
