Food

The first Louis Pappas location (called the Riverview Cafe) was opened by the Pappas family in Tarpon Springs back in the 1920's. Although this cafe closed in 2005, their trademark Greek salad with potato salad at the bottom has become famous.

The must try here is definitely the Chopped Greek salad. It's so unique and delicious, and yes, being chopped does make a huge difference in the texture, and thus, flavor.

A handful of appetizers, pitas, flatbreads, Mediterranean spreads, and traditional Greek entrees like Moussaka, Dolmades and Spanakopita round out the menu. If you are seeking a great appetizer, the Falafel with a spicy tzatziki spread is a tasty option.

Service

Service can be fast or slow, it just depends on the crowd levels. You order at the counter and buss your own table, so there is limited service involves besides someone bringing out your food.

Atmosphere

The setting here is simple with a no-frills dining room. Nothing too fancy, although the space is colorful and cheerful. They do offer a nice outdoor patio. If weather permits, enjoy your meal outside for a more leisurely experience.

Final Remarks

Give Louis Pappas a try if you are seeking a comfortable, casual, affordable place for lunch. Louis Pappas is a great Tampa area Greek dining choice when you want to keep it simple and affordable.
