There is no shortage of Greek restaurants around the Tampa Bay area. Anyone preferring a more modern appeal should look into Acropolis, a Greek chain with 5 convenient Tampa Bay locations.
While the food here doesn't compare to the Greek restaurants in Tarpon Springs, "the Greek capital of the world," there are a number of great menu choices.
The falafel appetizer is the must try here - it's so delicious. The menu is a bit on the pricey side, although there are a few good deals. One of these is the Gyro Platter which includes marinated chicken topped with tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki, served with a Greek salad, fries, and pita.
Service was definitely below average. Our waitress was socializing with friends instead of providing customers with any service. A huge disappointment especially at a high price point.
The setting is modern and sleek. The restaurant is really clean, spacious, and attractive. On nicer days, you can take a seat outside on the breezy patio.
Acropolis is a decent, albeit far from the best, Greek dining choice if you happen to be in the vicinity of one of their locations. It's worth visiting for their delicious falafel and pretty ambiance, although service is definitely way below par.
