Patzeria is an excellent place to indulge in authentic Italian food in the Theater district of New York. If you find yourself in the area, craving pizza or pasta, there is no better choice in the vicinity than Patzeria.
Food
Patzeria offers your standard Italian menu of pizza, pasta dishes, heroes, and various chicken and veal based entrees. Be sure to start with a delicious serving of their garlic knots. These seriously are the best garlic knots anywhere.
The pizza here is the must try. Although they do offer a number of specialty pies (lasagna & vegetarian pizza amongst others), the plain cheese is fantastic just as it is, without a bunch of toppings to compromise the true taste!
If you are craving something light, delicious, and totally affordable, definitely order the pasta with marinara sauce. A simple dish, but also a totally satisfying one that will only set you back $13! How's that for a great value in NYC? Their sauce is bursting with flavor!
Cap off your meal with an espresso and a tiramisu or cannoli.
Service
Service is super friendly here. The food did take a bit, however, we were in no hurry. If you are looking to relax a bit before heading back into the tourist mess, then Patzeria is a nice choice.
Atmosphere
The setting here is cozy and local. The vibe is laid-back and family-friendly. This relaxed ambiance basically works for anything, from casual lunch dates, to family gatherings.
Final Remarks
Patzeria is a great place to treat yourself to some delicious, affordable Italian fare after exploring the sights around Midtown. Not only is the food here excellent, it's also super affordable despite the central location. After a long day walking on your feet some tasty comfort food is in order!
