Food

The menu at The Pickled Palate is pretty simple. Pick amongst a variety of paninis and salads, along with a few appetizers. All paninis are served on ciabatta bread (fresh from a local bakery) and come with a fresh deli side (the potato salad is delicious!). Gluten-free and 9 grain bread are available (just ask to substitute).

From a tuna salad, to a southern style Pimento cheese, to a Vegan veggie, there is a sandwich for every taste here. We enjoyed the Chicken salad and Vegan sandwich. Both were perfect for a light lunch.

Any health conscious diner will surely be pleased with the Vegan delight which includes lettuce, sprouts, onions, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, pickles, and vegenaise on 9 grain bread. It's great that they offer a fresh healthy choice for anyone watching their diet as many small cafes do not offer a single option.

If you are craving something sweet, be sure to inquire about the house made daily dessert specials!

Service

Service was friendly with a local attitude. This restaurant is pretty low traffic, and thus, the food is served quickly.

Atmosphere

The vibe here is very cozy and relaxed. The cafe is located in an old house, so it's got that homey touch. If weather permits, the shady outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy lunch amongst beautiful trees.
