After embarking on that 1000 foot climb up Chimney Rock, you will be likely ready to refuel. The best place in adjacent Chimney Rock Village to fill up on some carbs after your hefty workout is Medina's. Everyone in your party can find something here on the diverse menu. From hearty sandwiches, to comforting appetizers, there are plenty of carb heavy choices to refuel up.
The menu at Medina's is small, yet diverse enough that everyone in your party should be able to find something to their liking. Sandwiches, soups, appetizers, salads are what you will find at Medinas - basically all the traditional cafe favorites. Nothing too fancy here, just basic sandwiches and deli fare. The cafe works with local farmers to provide fresh produce, which is always a plus!
Start with the savory spinach artichoke dip or pretzel bread and butter. Two homemade soups are offered daily - a good way to go if you are craving salt after your workout. A selection of hot and cold sandwiches are on the lineup. From grilled cheese, to a Philadelphia hoagie, to a black bean burger, there's a bit of everything here. Each sandwich comes with a side, so really it is the perfect sized lunch serving.
The oven roasted turkey sandwich was delicious. On our particular visit, the daily special included a wonderful veggie hummus wrap - the perfect healthy, yet comforting choice after a lot of exercise!
Service was fast despite the crowded setting. Our waitress was personable and efficient.
The space is pretty limited inside Medinas, and thus, it can be hard to find a seat if the park is busy that particular day. Not much in the way of decor either, although the space appears clean and well-maintained.
Medina's is definitely the place to go for a meal after a long day exploring Chimney Rock State Park. Grab a sandwich and bowl of soup, a few apps, kick back and let your feet enjoy a much needed rest!
