Tavolino is a contemporary Italian restaurant in the exclusive Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Tucson. Delicious food, an upscale ambiance, and a lovely patio make Tavolino a perfect choice for a dinner date or any other celebratory occasion.
Tavolino offers your standard Italian fare, with the addition of a few specialties. Pricing is a bit over the top, however, the food presentation and service, as well as overall ambiance, make up for the higher pricing.
Chef Massimo Tenino was born in Italy and has brought his Italian traditions and recipes over to the US. Fresh Pasta is made daily on-site.
The food here really is excellent and authentic. As far as appetizers go, the Parmigiana di Zucchine is the must-try. This delicious treat consists of layers of zucchini topped with Parmesan, smoked mozzarella, basil, and tomato sauce. Additionally, you will be brought out some delicious fresh complimentary bread to start your meal.
Tavolino specializes in wood-fired pizzas, and I have to say the Boscaiola pizza we tested was fantastic. If you are more in the mood for pasta, try out the Tagliolini e Pesto e Fagiolii, quite possibly the most deliciously creamy pesto pasta I've tasted.
Happy Hour deals are offered from 3-6pm daily and include discounted pizzas, appetizers, soups, and drinks.
Service at Tavolino is excellent, very professional and accommodating.
The elegant dining atmosphere makes Tavolino a popular date night destination. The inside is beautifully decorated and the patio is just perfect on cool spring and fall evenings. In terms of Tucson fine dining, Tavolino is one of the best-of-the-best, offering fine food, service, and a top knotch setting.
