Sauce is a very popular chain (found in Arizona, New Mexico, & Texas), known for their high quality wood-fired pizzas. Their dough and sauces are all made fresh on-site. There are numerous locations throughout Tucson, the best being the Casa Adobes plaza location, which is conveniently located right next to Frost, an amazing gelato shoppe.
Sauce offers a number of specialty pizzas, or you can choose to customize your own. They also offer a decent selection of appetizers, salads, and pastas. If you need gluten-free options, they offer a gluten-free crust for an additional $2.50 charge.
Whether you are in the mood for classic cheese, something unusual like the lasagna pie, or prefer to customize your own meats, cheese, and veggies, there is an option for every type of pizza lover out there.
Their desserts, particularly the pizza cookie are very popular, however, it's hard to get dessert here when the wonderful Frost gelato shop is right next door!
Be on the lookout for special promotions. During the summer they offer a deal where you can split a salad, pizza and receive 2 glasses of wine for just 22 bucks - not bad!
The setup is a bit inconvenient as there are no waiters and you have to attempt to scan the menu via a chalkboard while you wait in line. I recommend scanning the menu online beforehand as it is quite hard to read.
The dining room at Sauce is contemporary and clean, although a bit on the boring side. They do have a nice outdoor patio, which is perfect, during Tucson's milder season.
Sauce is an okay choice for a quick, affordable lunch if you happen to be in the area shopping or checking out a nearby attraction such as the Tohono Chul gardens.
