Brewd is a cute little neighborhood coffee shop in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson. Due to its' close proximity to Sabino Canyon, it's a nice little place to wake up and fuel up a bit before hitting the trails. Although our order was messed up, we still enjoyed the coffee and the friendly community vibe.
Brewd offers a full menu of specialty espresso drinks, a few non caffeinated beverage options, and a light food menu with both breakfast and lunch offerings.
Unfortunately, the staff accidentally gave us 2 Americanos instead of the Red Eye we were excited to try. As it was quite busy, we just went ahead with the drinks, which were actually pretty delicious. The Chai tea latte "Christmas in a cup" is supposed to be delicious here, and probably what I would order should I visit again.
Service at Brewd is very friendly. The baristas seem a little more upbeat than other coffee houses around Tucson. It has more of a neighborhood feeling versus the more modern hipster shops downtown.
Brewd offers a comfortable casual coffee house setting with cozy couches, newspapers to read, and free Wi-Fi. It's a great place to socialize with friends, enjoy a cup of coffee and light breakfast, or meet up with your biking or running group. It has more of a suburban vibe than most other Tucson coffeeshops, so if that appeals to you, than you might want to give it a shot. The decor is pleasant and the overall vibe relaxed and laid-back.
If you are heading out to Sabino Canyon for the day, I recommend stopping for a cup of coffee and perhaps a quick bite to eat at Brewd. They open early (6:30am) so you can still get to Sabino early in the morning before the scorching heat comes.
