Pink Java Cafe is conveniently located in Uptown Sedona, nearby many other shops, restaurants, and of course, the famous Pink Jeep tours (who also own the cafe). I really want to like this place, unfortunately, the coffee was bland, overpriced, and served by unhappy employees.
After passing by this cafe on multiple occasions while entering Sedona on scenic 89A and noticing the gorgeous setting with the red rocks,I finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the espresso drinks were terribly brewed, and even worse, only served in a paper cup.
While Pink Java Cafe could e a nice place to relax with a hot cup of coffee while enjoying Sedona's gorgeous red rocks, the service, ambiance, and drinks are just not up to par.
Although I ordered an extra shot of espresso in my Americano, the drink still lacked any flavor. On another downside, they only serve drinks in paper cups, which is strange considering the nice relaxing outdoor setting. Coffee always taste better served in a mug. You get a paper cup to go, not to relax!
If I wanted my coffee in a paper cup, I would have stopped by a bland chain. I would have rather taken my time sipping my coffee in a nice mug, then receiving a to go cup. What is the point in visiting a coffee shop if your drink isn't nicely presented in a cute mug?
Pink Java offers both hot and cold coffee and tea drinks, fruit smoothies, and a small selection of baked goods. On the plus side, they use organic coffee. Unfortunately, the 2 drinks we tried were both of poor quality.
Additionally, Pink Java offers no gluten-free options. This was really inconvenient as we were hoping to enjoy a light breakfast with our coffee. Instead, we had to find another restaurant. With so many people choosing to go gluten-free these days, why not offer a simple muffin?
Service wasn't enthusiastic in the slightest: in fact the employees had a general attitude of not wanting to be there. This in turn probably has an effect on the poor drink quality.
The beautiful outdoor setting facing the red rocks is very attractive. In fact, it is what caught my eye on multiple visits to Sedona and eventually led me to check out the cafe. Despite having one of the best views in town, Pink Java sorely disappoints once you actually arrive. Unfortunately, only the view is 5 stars: definitely not the coffee!
Poor quality drinks, less than enthusiastic service, and an absence of mugs are not what I look for in a great coffee shop experience. I recommend skipping the coffee at Pink Java Cafe and experiencing the gorgeous red rock views for yourself on one of the 100+ hiking options found in the area. In addition, there are many other restaurants and activities in town where you can experience similar views.
In short, Pink Java Cafe is not worth your time in Sedona. Don't waste your time or money on the horrible service and drinks you will receive at Pink Java. Pink Java is nothing more than a tourist trap, drawing you in with the colorful design and wonderful views, only to leave you feeling dissapointed.
