Sertino's is a casual cafe serving coffee, tea, pastries, frozen treats, soups, and sandwiches. The best aspect of Sertino's is that they are open long hours (6am-10pm), enabling you the convenience to stop by whenever you need a pick me up. Although locations now exist from Oregon to Texas, Beaumont is the original.
Sertino's uses organic, fair trade coffee, which is always great. The house coffee is a rich, dark Guatemalan with hints of cocoa. It's very good and should please anyone who likes rich drinks.
The most interesting choice on the menu is the Voodoo, a bold mixture of dark roast coffee and espresso. The resulting extremely rich, satisfying flavor will please anyone who loves strong coffee. This was one of the best drinks I've ever tasted.
Sertino's also serves hot tea, Italian soda, smoothies, and hot chocolate.
As for the food menu, you can choose from a variety of options including salads, panini sandwiches, deli sandwiches, and a small selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries.
Service was moderately friendly and fast. There were not any other customers which led to a more quiet experience.
Sertino's does not have mugs available which sort of ruins the coffeehouse experience. Who wants to sip their drink from a paper mug? I would just go to a quick stop location like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts if I wanted a to-go coffee.
I didn't care too much for the setting which reminded me more of a bland chain like Panera Bread rather than a coffeehouse. The design was clean and modern, however, the space was lacking any interesting decor. The relaxing couches were great though.
If you happen to be staying in or traveling through Beaumont, Sertino's is probably your best bet for a great cup of coffee. The cafe is nothing special in terms of atmosphere, although the coffee is quite good. If you enjoy strong coffee, you must try out the Voodoo!
