The Grind Coffee Bar & Cafe is a restaurant/coffee shop in the Citrus Park neighborhood of Tampa. Due to the popularity of the first Grind (The Campus Grind on the campus of USF St. Pete), this second shop opened up as a more convenient option for Westchase residents. The coffee here is pretty decent, however, the setting is just a bit too noisy.
A wide range of fancy espresso and latte drinks and an extensive tea menu is available. The breakfast menu features eggs, pancakes, and a variety of gluten free and vegan options including fresh baked muffins. Lunch options include sandwiches and salads. Those with food allergies should have no problem finding an entree as the restaurant is able to customize options to be gluten-free and/or vegetarian. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try any food, however, it looks pretty good. The Grind is more of a breakfast cafe, rather than a relaxing coffeeshop, so I recommend just visiting for the food.
Waiting for 2 basic espresso drinks took much longer than expected due to the long line. This is a busy place, so expect a lengthy wait on weekends!
The Grind feels more like a cafe than a coffee shop, which is a bit disappointing in my opinion. The inside is busy, modern, and chain-like. Due to the packed setting, it's not the most relaxing place for a cup of coffee, and near impossible to find a seat on a Saturday morning.
The Grind is one of the few options in the Tampa area for local coffee, unfortunately the space is too small, busy, and bland to enjoy a mug of coffee. A larger space along with more creative decor and a few couches for relaxing would be a good start in terms of improving the coffee house atmosphere.
