Located on the beautiful marina in Palm Harbor, Florida, Ozona Blue offers a spectacular setting any day of the week. This unique restaurant offers an interesting atmosphere, complete with an outdoor pool, hot tub, and tiki bar.
This classic Florida restaurant offers 2 different settings. Whether you feel like keeping it casual and enjoying a light lunch in the beautiful Florida sunshine, or dressing up a bit and enjoying an evening dinner out on the patio listening to the live band, the choice is up to you.
The menu at Ozona features both American favorites and local seafood specialties. There are plenty of seafood sandwiches and dishes on the menu, including: Snow crab and shrimp combos, grouper dinners, and fish tacos. If you love pasta and seafood, there are a number of tempting choices including Shrimp Scampi and Lobster and Shrimp pasta. You will also find a variety of chicken and beef sandwiches and entrees.
Appetizers consist mainly of seafood inspired choices such as: oysters, coconut shrimp, and smoked salmon. Guacamole, prepared fresh at your table, seems to be one of the more popular options.
You will even find a few Cuban specialties such as Cuban black beans and homemade Cuban Sangrias.
The only thing missing on the menu is a selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Besides a few salads and pasta choices (minus the meat), those eating vegetarian are pretty much out of luck.
Fortunately, Mike and I were able to find something on the menu. The Southwestern Fried Salad (Grilled Chicken, Guacamole, Tortilla Strips, Black Bean Salsa, and Lettuce) was great, as was the House Salad (Romaine, Artichoke Hearts, Pimentos, Red Onions, and Red Wine Vinaigrette).
These aren’t your traditional tiny iceberg lettuce salads. These salads are entrée sized, definitely big enough for a meal for the average person. The salads were fresh and delicious, and the waitress had no problem making minor substitutions.
Update: A new fresh Mediterranean salad, a Cuban Black Bean soup, and a Margherita pizza provide a few more options for vegetarians.
Service was pretty good. Our waitress had no problem with a few minor substitutions and was able to answer several questions we had regarding ingredients.
The setting here is especially unique with the pool and hot tub outside. It definitely feels like Florida! Great marina views from the outdoor patio, a lively band on the weekends, and poolside bar service: the perfect setting for a night out on the town. Ozona Blue is the go to spot for locals, and a great place to take newcomers to the area.
Ozona is a great town with plenty of local businesses. Many restaurants, such as Ozona Blue, feature a refreshing old-style ambiance. With so many tedious chains dominating the area, any local business really is a bonus. Ozona Blue is a great way to experience local Florida culture, along with some great food, service, and views.
