Casa Rustica is an excellent local Italian restaurant in Boone. This place has been in business for over 40 years and is a favorite of local residents. In this touristy town, Casa is by far one of the best options for a nice quiet dinner. At Casa, you will be treated to exemplary service and fantastic food in a charming rustic dining room.
While vacationing in Boone, be sure to stop by this local favorite. Even those with gluten-free allergies will be able to enjoy many fine pasta dishes.
On Casa Rustica's menu, you will find a selection of traditional appetizers (Bruschetta, Fried Mozzarella, and Fried Calamari to name a few), soups and salads, a create your own pasta entree from a selection of sauces and toppings, Chicken, Seafood and Veal based dishes, and a full bar menu. Each pasta entree comes with a soup or salad and bread.
Gluten-free pasta is available with no up charge, a refreshing change from the enormous extra fee typically added by restaurants trying to take advantage of gluten-free customers. Several menu items are able to be modified to be gluten-free and are marked as so on the menu. Your waiter will be happy to go over any ingredients or possible substitutions.
The gluten-free pasta with the basic marinara sauce was very good as was the Chicken Cacciatore, which the chef was kindly able to make both gluten and dairy-free at our request.
My only complaint is that the servings were a bit small and no gluten-free bread was available. Adding gluten-free bread to the menu would add a few more side options for gluten-free guests.
Service is absolutely wonderful: very prompt and professional. Our waiter was more than willing to go over gluten-free items and check with the chef on possible substitutions to make one of the chicken dishes gluten-free.
Casa Rustica's dining room was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The fireplace was roaring in the background: the perfect ambiance on a cold winter's night. You can sit here socializing with a glass of wine long after your meal due to the cozy, rustic setting.
Casa Rustica is a great dining choice to incorporate into your Boone vacation itinerary. Food is wonderful, prices are affordable, service is top notch, and the upscale cabin atmosphere is really appealing.
