U.S. National Park Week!

Bison at beautiful Yellowstone National Park

April 21st-29th 2012 is National Park Week. This means that entrance will be free this week! Take advantage of no admission fees and spend the day hiking, biking, picnicking, or just taking in the views. Most of these parks normally charge upwards of $25 so this is a great time to go! Every year for one week during the spring, all national parks are free of charge. Check the National Park website for next year’s week as well as additional free days throughout the season.

A few of my favorite national parks

Yellowstone

Grand Tetons

The Grand Canyon

Zion

Great Smoky Mountains

Redwood National Forest

For more information and a list of other free days throughout the year, please check out this site:

Does that mean the Grand Canyon will be free as well. I don’t go on tours but love to just hike and hang out there. I just moved to Arizona and have been wanting to head up there. But the move was so expensive. I have been trying not to take the family of 4 to many places where I have to pay to get in. This would be such a great opportunity.
