On our Cleveland trip, we decided to visit a small Paris inspired cafe called Le Petit Triangle. This local gem offers an authentic European atmosphere complete with delicious French entrees and decor. We were looking forward to dining at a small, local restaurant serving specialty food, and that’s exactly what we got at this local gem.
The menu offers traditional European breakfast and lunch favorites, including crepes, quiche, stuffed French toast, and specialty soups and sandwiches.
We really wanted to try the Quiche du Jour, served with a side salad, however, they were out for the day by the time we arrived for lunch. I recommend getting here early if you want to indulge in a savory slice of quiche! Reservations are recommended, especially on busy weekends. They take walk ins but it can get busy.
Delicious crepes, both savory and sweet
I decided to go with one of the crepes since they were out of quiche. This was fine by me since I had never tried a crepe before. I ordered the French Dark chocolate crepe, which was absolutely delicious! The whipped cream & strawberries were a nice touch. I am not a huge fan of sweets, however, I have to say that this will definitely satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth!

I also tried the Triangle Salad, an assortment of mesclun (a mix of French greens), dried cranberries, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds tossed in a raspberry vinaigrette. The salad was great; I would definitely order it again. It would pair well with a quiche or sandwich.

Mike ordered the Simplette Savory Crepe, which was a delicious crepe stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, and tomato. You also have the choice of adding a variety of other ingredients such as ham, chicken, or avocado. Mike loved the couscous lentil salad, which was included as a side dish.

UPDATE: We returned to this restaurant multiple times after relocating to the metro in 2024. We finally got to try the veggie quiche which was really delicious. Their coffee is really good now too and they offer refills which is a nice perk in a city where most shops charge at least 75 cents. We also ordered the Dark chocolate crepe again (this time with bananas instead of strawberries) and it was exactly as I remember it: totally delicious!

Healthy and allergy friendly
I tried Mike’s crepe and I have to say I was impressed. The ability to substitute buckwheat was a nice healthy bonus. Despite the name, buckwheat is a great option for those following a gluten-free diet.
This cafe is a great choice for anyone seeking a vegetarian friendly place for brunch. They offer a number of great meat-free entrees including:
- Tuscan Bean and Three Onion soup
- Vegetarian Quiche
- Classic and Apple Walnut French Toast
- Sweet Potato Hash
- Spinach, Tomato, and Chevre Crepe
- Ratatouille Crepe
- A variety of sweet crepes
This is also a great choice for anyone needing GF food as buckwheat flour can be used in place of regular wheat flour.
UPDATE: After recently moving to the Cleveland metro, we have had a lot more time to explore the vegetarian foodie scene. I recommend taking a look at my guide to see what else the city offers.
The perfect ambiance for a date!

I really enjoyed this cafe, especially the European style design. I felt as if I was sitting in a quiet cafe in Paris. Even the menu is in French! I felt like I needed to take my French book back out to translate some of the items. Whether you choose a traditional French breakfast with coffee, a light sandwich for lunch, or a sweet crepe with a glass of wine for an after dinner snack; you will fall in love with the Parisian inspired food and ambiance.

This cafe is not that far from the amazing art museum, one of my favorite attractions in the city. A wonderful date idea would be brunch at this cafe followed by checking out one of the top art collections in the Midwest.
