Attraction of the Week: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando
Rides in Diagon Alley
Escape to Gringotts
This park houses the Harry Potter themed Escape to Gringotts ride, a fantastic 3D rollercoaster in the dark. This ride often has one of the longest waits in the park, however, it is definitely worth a visit. Plan on getting on this ride first thing in the morning for the shortest wait.
The inside of Gringotts bank is incredible and includes amazing crystal chandeliers and realistic looking goblins. Definitely one of the best queues at the Orlando parks!
The Hogwarts Express
The Hogwarts Express can be accessed at both Universal Parks. At Universal Studios, you will find King’s Cross Station, which will transport you over to Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure, where more Harry Potter fun and rides await you. As you take the short ride over, you will enjoy some nice views of the English countryside. You can even pick up a treat (chocolate frog anyone?) at the station to accompany you on your ride.
King’s Cross looks exactly like the real London location that was used for filming. Be sure to be on the lookout for the fantastic mirror illusion near Platform 9 3/4 where it looks like you are disappearing into the wall! Great special effects here! Have someone take a video!
The train compartments look exactly the same as those Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat on in the films. It’s a really exciting experience to take the Hogwarts Express, not to mention a relaxing break from walking around the parks all day.
