This casual Mexican chain has over 130 locations throughout the states of Florida, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, and Virginia. If you are seeking a laid-back Mexican restaurant serving good food and offering affordable pricing, there is no better choice in the Tampa Bay area.
This Tijuana is located in Wesley Chapel, amongst a sea of suburban strip malls, making it a great pick in between errands.
Everything at Tijuana is made fresh daily, even the queso, guacamole, and salsa. You can count on a fresh meal despite the quick service nature of the establishment. The menu is simple with your choice of various tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, flautas, enchiladas, or burritos. Anything can be made vegetarian by substituting black beans. I appreciate this offering being a vegetarian for over 30 years: many Mexican establishments today still do not cater to those following a special diet.
The enchiladas are particularly delicious and my go-to order. Spicy chipotle or a milder Verde sauce is available. Chips and salsa can be added for just a few bucks.
While far from healthy, their cookie dough flautas (a whopping 1136 calories!) are quite popular. If you have a sweet tooth, you will definitely want to splurge on this unique & tasty treat!
This is a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter. I recommend scanning the menu at home in advance as the board is quite hard to read in the dark, crowded environment.
The setting, though casual, is eclectic and colorful. The small space packs in a lot of personality. For those cooler fall/winter days, dine alfresco on the covered patio.
