One of the best Greek options in the Tampa Bay area, despite the fact that it is a quick service chain, is The Hungry Greek. This wonderful cafe serves authentic Greek food at affordable prices.
There are 6 convenient Bay area locations, so you are always within easy reach no matter where your day's adventures make take you. The Wesley Chapel cafe features a covered patio and the service is always great.
The menu is pretty simple, yet there is still something for everyone. Of course, a classic Greek salad never disappoints. Their salad is really tasty and a huge portion for the price. Salads come with pita bread and tzatziki which is an extra bonus.
The pitas here are really good, whether you go with the Chicken, Falafel, Philly, Veggie, or Chicken Caesar option. Do order some delicious fries on the side! They are the best in the city!
Another wonderful option is the Greek bowl. This filling vegetarian friendly entrée includes brown rice, garbanzo beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, feta cheese, and tzatziki sauce. Add protein of your choice (the falafel is so good!) for an even more filling meal. This is my standard meal of choice and a great pick for vegetarians.
Other interesting bowl options include veggie, fajita, and tabouli. Also, be sure to look into the selection of heartier entrees which includes Greek favorites like Souvlaki, Spinach Pie, and Dolmades.
If you are still hungry, treat yourself to a baklava or rice pudding for dessert.
Everything is always fresh and consistent here no matter which location you visit.
This is a quick service restaurant, so you order at the counter. Everyone is always nice and the food does not take long at all. I've never had any problems with staff being rude or forgetting something in the order.
This location features a nice covered patio which is a must during the sunny, hot summer season. There are a few fans which don't help much to cool down the humid air. As seating inside is limited and a bit congested, dining outside is a nice alternative especially on mild fall and winter days.
The Hungry Greek is the best choice in Tampa Bay for anyone seeking tasty, affordable, and quick Greek food. You can't beat the Greek salad and pitas here for the price. Definitely give this place a try if you are within any of the locations. The Wesley Chapel cafe is the perfect quick stop in between shopping or errands.
