Goose Feathers is a casual American cafe which has been serving Savannah since 1986. A diverse menu including all day breakfast, a beautiful patio, and the laid-back ambiance make it the perfect place to kick back and relax after a long day exploring Savannah's historic district.
Goose Feathers serves an all day breakfast menu, plus lunch. I love being able to order breakfast anytime of the day. They also offer a full bakery of European style goods. Scratch made breads, muffins, croissants, bagels, cookies, pies -you can find just about anything here. They were featured in the Taste of South magazine for their delicious Bread Pudding.
The breakfast menu includes an assortment of egg dishes, waffles, oatmeal with fruit, bagels with various toppings, quiche, and stuffed croissants. Plus, you have all the delicious bakery selections and a full coffee menu. Consider stopping here for a light breakfast before taking a history tour.
The lunch menu is a bit more extensive and includes soups, salads, sandwiches, and various entrees. Their Black Bean Burrito is really good. It's super filling too as it is stuffed to the brim with black beans, Vermont cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, and topped with sour cream and fresh avocado. This is a great vegetarian option! A perfect filling and healthier treat after a long day on your feet! I would definitely order it again!
Update: The burrito is no longer offered, however, they do offer a breakfast burrito. Also, you will find a number of vegetarian sandwiches.
The wait can be long depending on the crowds. Because this is a counter service cafe, the line can easily build up.
Although the interior is a bit bland, they do offer a pretty shady patio. Even on the hottest of days, you can enjoy leisurely dining experience on the patio without the harsh sunlight on your face.
Goose Feathers is a great choice for breakfast or lunch, depending on where your day's adventures make take you. It's conveniently located within walking distance to almost everything in the historic district, and therefore, the perfect choice for tourists exploring the city.
