There are many local establishments lining Safety Harbor's Main Street district. The Nona Slice House is a great choice for anyone who loves pizza and outdoor dining. As one of the more laid-back dining choices in town, this is a great pick for anyone seeking a low-key lunch destination. The pizza is great and the ambiance super casual, so you can come in right after working out or running errands.
The dough is made by hand each day and fresh high quality cheeses are used. The resulting pizza is really delicious, definitely one of the better choices in Pinellas County. New York style, Old World style and Detroit style specialty pizzas are all available as options.
Plain Ol' cheese NY style is the way to go in my opinion - simple & delicious. Prices are a bit on the high side, however, the quality is top notch.
Dairy-free cheese and a gluten-free crust are available for an extra charge, so Nona's is also a good choice for anyone following a special diet.
They also offer a number of appetizers including really tasty garlic knots. These are definitely a must try for a starter. A fresh salad is always a good choice on a hot Florida summer afternoon. Treat yourself to the Nona house featuring romaine lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, red onions, and kalamata olives with a vinaigrette sauce.
Service is a bit on the slow side, especially if you dine on the busy patio. I don't mind though as the seating area is really nice.
The ambiance is pretty nice especially on the covered patio. The interior is attractive as well with a cozy inviting vibe and classic checkered tablecloths. It's the perfect place for a cozy and casual meal.
Nona's is a great choice for any pizza lover visiting downtown Safety Harbor. The ambiance is cozy and casual and the food is great. They serve delicious NY style pizza and the best garlic knots in Pinellas.
