Review Details

Giuseppe's restaurant offers one of the nicest patios of all the Italian dining choices in Tucson. Add in fresh authentic food and great service and this local gem is one of the better places in Tucson for a romantic dinner or special meal in the city. They serve great pasta and pizza in a charming space.

Food

Everything at Giuseppe's is homemade and authentic. Giuseppe's offers your basic menu of standard Italian fare plus a few specialties including their famous Eggplant Parmesan which is supposed to be fabulous.

We tested out the Fettuccine Alfredo and the Meatball Ricotta (with Chicken Meatballs). The Fettuccine Alfredo was pretty good, although a bit on the heavy side. I ended up taking half of it home as it was just so rich and creamy. I guess this is actually as a good thing as I didn't have to cook lunch the next day! The Meatball Ricotta was a bit different, yet really delicious. This dish consists of homemade meatballs, farfalle pasta, and tomato sauce topped with ricotta cheese baked with mozzarella cheese. Pretty tasty, I recommend trying it out.

Dessert looked delicious, although we were much too stuffed to even consider any of the tempting options on the menu. The Tiramisu looked fabulous, and it would definitely be my choice should I visit again. Also, I love Eggplant Parmesan and will definitely try it out my next visit!

On a side note, lunch is a great time to plan your visit. Entrees are a few bucks cheaper and include a house or Caesar salad. They also offer a variety of sandwiches, which are served with fries or a house/Caesar salad. This is a great time to try out the menu and see what you like.

Service

Service is classy and professional as you would expect at most traditional Italian restaurants. Our server was very attentive and great at refilling drinks and refreshing bread, which by the way was really tasty.

Atmosphere

Giuseppe's offers the perfect romantic ambiance for a date. Inside, the dining space is modern and colorful with pretty art adorning the walls. Depending on the weather, you will definitely want to plan to dine outside on their beautiful patio which is strung with pretty lights and overall offers one of the nicest vibes in Tucson.

Final Words

Giuseppe's is one of the better Italian restaurants in Tucson. The ambiance, food, and service are all great, thus making it the perfect place for a dinner date or celebratory meal. I was pleased with the overall dining experience and would definitely come back to test out the Eggplant Parmesan and maybe a tiramisu for dessert! Also, the lunch specials look fabulous!
