Mt. Adams Bar & Grille
Mt. Adams Bar and Grille is a historic Cincinnati speakeasy owned by Cincinnati bootlegger, George Remus. It is located in the beautiful Mt. Adams neighborhood. This bar opened during the Prohibition era in 1919, making it one of the city's oldest bars. Today, you can enjoy good comfort food and drinks in a nice historic ambiance.
Food
The Mt. Adams menu includes a large variety of sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads, as well as heartier entrees which are great for the cold winter season.
The great thing about Mt. Adams is that they offer a surprisingly large selection of entrees for health conscious diners including a Veggie Pasta, Steamed Vegetables on Wild Rice, a Mexican Black Bean supreme burrito, a Mediterranean plate, and plenty of fresh salads.
There are also many comfort selections if you want a treat including Grilled Cheese, Tuna Melt, Chicken Marinara, and lots of tempting appetizers such as nachos and cheese fries with a ranch or spicy nacho dipping sauce.
The Veggie sandwich featuring tomato, sliced avocado, red onion, alfalfa sprouts, Monterey jack cheese, lettuce and Thousand Island dressing is a nice filling, yet reasonably healthy entree. You get to pick one side and there are lots of tempting options including regular and sweet potato fries, coleslaw, potato salad, 3 bean salad, or wild rice.
Service
Service was decent although a tad on the slow side. Also, the kitchen forgot to take one of the veggies off our sandwich, although it wasn't that big of a deal.
Atmosphere
The ambiance is very unique and historic. There is a lot to look at while waiting for your meal. In contrast to a boring chain, dining here is quite interesting.

Check out Mt. Adams Bar and Grille for lunch, especially if you will be checking out nearby attractions in Eden Park including the renowned Cincinnati Art Museum. The food is great and the ambiance beautiful for a lunch date.
