This popular family-owned diner has been going strong since 1986. Most notably, the diner was featured on Food Network's popular Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives program. Guy ordered the Italian Jumbot featuring eggs, home fries, ham, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and American cheese, served with Italian toast.

Food

In addition to the Italian Jumbot, Dor-Stop is famous for their specialty pancakes. A variety of specialty hotcake options include Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin, Oatmeal Banana, and Blueberry. If have a sweet tooth, you will definitely want to treat yourself to a stack.

Other options include French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and a variety of omelettes. The Veggie and Cheese omelette and Breakfast Burrito we tried were decent, although not exceptional. The toast was not toasted well enough and the potatoes a bit undercooked. The coffee was decent enough.

Service

Service was good and our waitress had no problem bringing out another order of extra dark toast.

Atmosphere

The vibe is more diner style than fancy restaurant. If you are seeking a casual, no-frills dining environment, Dorstop should please. Not much in the way of decor, although if you follow the Food Network's Triple D show, it may be a bucket list contender for checking off restaurants in the Pittsburgh area.

Final Remarks

Although the food and ambiance at Dor-Stop is average, it's a cool stop for anyone checking off Triple D locations across the country. Also, it's located within a short drive of many Pittsburgh attractions, so a good quick stop enroute to any daily activities.
