Gianfranco's is the most authentic place to grab a slice of pizza in Old City. After a full day on your feet, you will probably be ready for a comforting, carb heavy lunch. Consider stopping by Gianfranco's for a tasty slice or 2 of delicious pizza.
Food
Gianfranco's offers more than a dozen pizzas by the slice or you can treat yourself to a whole pie. The cheese pizza is really delicious - really there is no need to cover great tasting pizza with lots of toppings! Pizza by the slice includes selections such as eggplants, tomato and pesto, and chicken parmigiana. There are a number of white pies with various toppings as well.
For anyone who loves lots of toppings, you will want to order off the specialty menu. Consider testing the Mediterranean pizza which is loaded with black olives, roasted peppers, artichokes, capers, and Italian tuna.
Prices are pretty reasonable with a large cheese running $11.50, and specialties ranging in the $12-15 range.
Other menu items include strombolis, sandwiches (including plenty of veggie options), wraps, wings, paninis, and burgers.
Asides from great tasting pizza, the highlight here really is the delicious appetizer menu. You must start off with an order of toasted ravioli and garlic knots. These were as delicious as the pizza itself!
Service
Service here was friendly. We ordered a whole pie and it did not take very long at all. The food was hot and fresh and condiments were easily accessible.
Atmosphere
The seating area is really small without much decor. However, the vibe is casual, thus making this a great stop after a tiresome day on your feet.
Final Remarks
Give Gianfranco's a chance if you are seeking delicious pizza in Old City. There really is not a better choice in this section of the city. As a bonus, Gianfranco's is conveniently located within easy walking distance of most of the top attractions.
