Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC is a dedicated allergy friendly bakery which opened its' flagship location in 2005 in New York City. Since then, a few new locations have begun to pop up across the country including the newest location in Orlando's Disney Springs district.
As Disney Springs is pretty limited in terms of treats for guests with multiple food sensitivities, it's great to have an option that will satisfy almost everyone. Even those with more than one food allergy can indulge on their favorite treats as the bakery is completely free of all major allergens.
Food
All treats at the bakery are absent of refined sugar, gluten, dairy, soy, and eggs. In addition, all are kosher. There are so many tempting treats here from cupcakes to brownies to cookies. It is hard to believe that every single one is gluten-free, soy free, and dairy-free (even donuts and bagels)!
Although not all ingredients used are organic, they are GMO-free which is a big plus. If you are trying to avoid added sugar, you can select items that are sweetened naturally.
The thin mint cookies and pumpkin muffins were delicious and surprisingly pretty affordable. It's nice to know that they do not take advantage of those with allergies.
If you like the treats enough, you can pick up pre-made mixes to make allergen friendly treats on your own at home.
Service
There isn't much service involved here as it is a pretty quick transaction, however, the staff seemed pretty friendly as is the case at most Disney area businesses.
Atmosphere
The Disney Springs location features a quick grab and go setting. Unfortunately, there is no seating either inside nor outside. The treats melt really fast in the harsh Florida sun, so it would be nice to expand the shop to include a few indoor tables.
Final Remarks
Erin McKenna's Bakery will be a real treat to any Disney visitors with food allergies/intolerances. I don't know how anyone could leave without trying one of these delicious creations.
Let's face it - It's not too often that there are any treats at a restaurant that fit into a dairy and gluten-free lifestyle, let alone a whole bakery devoted to these allergy friendly treats. Allergies or not, you will satisfy your sweet tooth at this delightful Disney Springs addition.
