Dockside Family Restaurant is a nice seafood restaurant located on the beautiful waterfront in the downtown area of Belfast, Maine. I stopped in this restaurant after receiving a recommendation from the Belfast Harbor Inn.
Dockside is a great little American/seafood restaurant with a diverse variety of options for everyone.
For my entree, I ordered the grilled veggie Alfredo. It came with a salad and garlic bread. It was just average, nothing spectacular, but still worthy of the small price tag.
The menu includes your basic family restaurant fare including appetizers, salads, burgers, and a number of sea and land based entrees. If you are a fan of seafood, try the Fisherman's Platter which includes fried shrimp, haddock, scallops, and clams. Each entrée is served with potato, salad, or coleslaw, plus a roll.
Our waiter was friendly and provided efficient service.
The best part of this restaurant is not the food, but the fantastic water scenery. They have an outdoor deck, unfortunately it was too cold and rainy on my visit. However, even from inside the views were still spectacular. The pretty setting alone definitely warrants a visit to this charming restaurant.
Even though the food here was just average, I really enjoyed the scenery. If you like seafood, you will probably have a better dining experience than me. From this restaurant, you can conveniently stroll over to the waterfront or various downtown shops.
