Service was a bit slow, although I understand the wait as our waitress doubled as the one taking the phone orders. She did the best she could based on the circumstances. They definitely need to hire a few more waiters!
The inside of Mama Cimino's is nothing to write home about, as it works better as a takeout pizza place. I give them credit for working with the small space. You will find nice checkered tables, occasional live entertainment, video games for the kids, etc.
In my opinion, Mama Cimino's is your best bet for authentic, delicious pizza in Dixon. The supersize "Hurricane" option (excellent for parties and events) gives it a heads up over other pizza places in town.
Mama Cimino's is frequently regarded by locals as one of the best pizza places in the area. I have noticed that locals are often torn between Mama Cimino's and Joe's Pizza. I have tested both and definitely give the upper hand to Mama Cimino's! Most of the time, we order takeout, however, we have visited the restaurant on several occassions. On this trip to Dixon, we had the opportunity to do both.
Mama Cimino's is most famous for their gigantic 24 inch "Hurricane Pizza." We went through several of these specialty pizzas during our 2 week stay. This pizza is large enough for several people, making it the perfect choice for a party.
Other options on the menu include: pastas, salads, and traditonal fried snack appetizers. On the night that we decided to dine inside, we ordered Baked Mostaciolli and Cheesy garlic bread. Both options were terrific, likely due to the rich, perfectly spiced marinara sauce. Prices are affordable (make sure to check the website for weekly coupons). You will also find a number of specialty buffets offered throughout the week, including a popular Sunday brunch and Tuesday night taco bar.
Check the Mama Cimino's website for details on other weekly buffets.
