The Blue Lake Inn was our choice for a budget friendly hotel in the Lake Tahoe area. This inexpensive inn is located within walking distance to Heavenly Village, which in addition to being a fantastic ski resort, also offers a long line of activities including a scenic gondola ride, restaurants, a seasonal ice rink, shops, and more.

Appearance

The Blue Lake Inn was not as bad as I was expecting it to be for the cheap price. It is much, much cheaper than many of the other hotels in the area. It is not the fanciest looking place, but it makes up for that with its' close proximity to Tahoe attractions.

Amenities

Amenities included an outdoor pool (seasonal), a year-round hot tub and a free continental breakfast. There was also a public computer available in the lobby.

The hot tub felt great after a long day exploring town, and it was fun to watch the snow falling down outside while relaxing in the warm waters. The continental breakfast was average but enough to get us by until lunch.

Promotional Offer

Price

We found this inn on hotels.com for only $39! This is an unbelievable price for the Lake Tahoe area! We ended up booking 3 nights for a little over $130 - you can't beat that! 3 nights was cheaper than one night in one of the casino resorts, which means more money to spend on all the great attractions in the area.

Room

Rooms were very basic and a bit outdated. However, they included a microwave and mini fridge which came in handy for storing restaurant leftovers. Free WiFi and HBO are included in the room rate.

Final Remarks

The best part of the Blue Lake Inn was the fantastic location. We were able to easily walk over to Heavenly Village and the casinos. Because we got the room so cheap, we had extra money available to enjoy all the fantastic attractions and restaurants in the area.
