Hotel Reivew
Mike & I needed a basic hotel for our one night stay in Cleveland. We also needed one that allowed pets, which can be difficult to find in the city. We opted to stay in Macedonia about a half hour drive from Cleveland. The La Quinta was a perfect option as offers a number of amenities and is located nearby the beautiful Towpath trail.
This was the ideal choice for us as we planned on biking along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath, which was conveniently located about 15 minutes from the hotel. This La Quinta features an appealing modern update.
Those who wish to visit Cleveland's many great attractions (The house from "A Christmas Story," The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, etc.) will find themselves less than a half hour away. You get the advantage of coming back to a quiet hotel, located far away from the traffic and crowds of the city.
Appearance
Both the inside and outside of this La Quinta looked well-maintained and new. After years of traveling, I have noticed that different La Quinta locations vary tremendously in terms of quality. This La Quinta is one of the newer locations with a modern design and more luxurious amenities.
Amenities
A variety of great amenities, such as a breakfast buffet, indoor pool and hot tub, fitness facility, and free Wi-Fi are available. I have noticed that amenities at La Quinta's vary based on the location and year the hotel was built.
The breakfast buffet wasn't too bad: an assortment of options such as hot waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toasts, juices, and pastries were available. The breakfast room has a nice business setup, including outlets for your laptops, which works out great for those looking to get work done.
The indoor pool and hot tub came in handy during our stay. We took the opportunity to relax after our tiresome 10 hour car drive. Soothing our sore muscles in the hot tub after our 15 mile bike ride along the beautiful Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath trail was perfect.
We didn't have the opportunity to use the indoor fitness facility (as we took our exercise outdoors), however, it looked newer & bigger than most comparable hotels.
Other useful amenities include free Wi-Fi and free pet stays. Most hotels charge quite a bit if you choose to bring a pet (including a ridiculous deposit fee). I like to take advantage of La Quinta's free pet policy!

Price
We paid about $70 for this hotel (including an online 10% off coupon), which wasn't a bad deal compared to other hotel prices in the area. A modern, clean hotel with a free breakfast, free pet stay, and a pool and hot tub: not a bad deal for a mere $70!
Room
We booked the Executive Queen Room, which had business style decor and amenities. Amenities included a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, work desk, and a Samsung flat screen TV.
Basically all the comforts you would need for a short hotel stay were included in the room. The room was appealing with a clean, grey color scheme. The room was clean and updated.
Final Remarks
I would recommend La Quinta Cleveland Macedonia to both business travelers and tourists. The hotel is affordable, convenient, well-maintained, and located just a short drive away from most of Cleveland's top attractions.
Add in a few extra amenities like a hot breakfast and a spa: what more could you ask for at this price? Another great stay at La Quinta - I will definitely keep this hotel in mind if I ever find myself passing through Cleveland again.
