Giacomo's in downtown Boston, Massachusetts

Giacomo’s is the perfect Boston Italian restaurant for date night or catching up with friends. After hearing nothing but fantastic reviews, Mike and I figured we needed to try it out for ourselves as we love Italian food. It was recently rated as one of the 20 best Italian restaurants in the US. We decided Giacomo’s was the perfect place to meet up with a few friends who were visiting. We were all very satisfied with the authentic cuisine and variety of unique entrees.

I checked out the menu beforehand and knew that I had to go with the Pumpkin Tortellini. It was absolutely delicious: probably the best dish I have ever ordered at an Italian restaurant! (Unfortunately the lighting was pretty dim, so I couldn’t get a great picture). Trust me it is even better than it looks!

Mike ordered the Lobster Ravioli, which he has always wanted to try. He loved the dish and even wants to go back again just for the dish.

The prices are very reasonable, especially for a touristy Boston Italian restaurant, most of which are pretty pricey. For a full dinner menu, visit the Giacomo’s website.

The restaurant is very small. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much, however, the amazing food more than makes up for the small dining space. Despite the small interior, there is a lot of historic local charm here. You won’t be disappointed!

Giacomo’s Location and Pricing Info

As evidenced by the waiting line outside (on a Tuesday night) this restaurant is very popular! There are 2 locations – one in the Back Bay section of town and one in the North End. We chose the Back Bay location as there was no line outside, compared to the already packed North End location.

There is street parking available, however, availability is extremely limited. Valet parking is available for $14. Luckily, we were able to find a street spot just a short walk away.

Give Giacomo’s a try on your visit to Boston. Conveniently located just a short walk from most Boston Common hotels, Giacomo’s is the perfect option for tasting the best Italian food the city has to offer!

UPDATE: The owner has sold the Back Bay location (Gigi took its’ place), however, you can still visit the North End restaurant offering the same terrific food.
